Docs Tuning and customizing

Customizing how Grimoire looks

Settings > Appearance. Changes save as soon as you click them. The only exception is the custom color pickers, which save when you click Apply.

Grimoire is dark only. There is no light mode. The closest thing to a theme switch is OLED mode.

OLED mode

Turn on OLED mode to swap the dark grey background and panels for true black and near-black.

Accent color

The color used for buttons, links, highlights, and focus rings.

Eight presets: Ember (the default orange), Amber, Crimson, Rose, Violet, Azure, Cyan, and Emerald. The rainbow swatch with the pipette opens a picker for any color.

In the picker, dragging previews the color live. Apply saves it. Cancel, Escape, or clicking outside throws the change away.

Background glow

Tints the app background with light coming in from the top-left and bottom-right corners.

No glow is the default. Seven presets: Ember, Dusk, Abyss, Verdant, Nebula, Gold, and Ash. The rainbow swatch opens Custom background glow, where you set Top left and Bottom right separately. Same rules as the accent picker: only Apply saves.

Launcher and sidebar art

Under Launcher & sidebar art you can set four backgrounds separately: Launch Modded, Launch Vanilla, Active tab, and Volume bar.

Click one and pick:

  • Default: Grimoire’s built-in look
  • Hero: any hero’s art, framed for you. Click Adjust framing to change it
  • Custom image: your own picture, which you can crop
  • None: no background at all (not offered for the active tab)

Two layout switches

Combine launch buttons turns the two launch buttons into one. Switch between Modded and Vanilla with the swap icon or a right-click.

Transparent sidebar removes the sidebar’s dark panel so it blends into the page background. Icons, art, and the divider stay.

Language

The Language & region card sits under the Appearance card. Pick a language, or System default to follow your operating system.

English, Bulgarian, French, and Russian come with the app. The percentage next to each name is how much of the app that community translation covers. Anything not translated yet shows in English.

The list comes from GitHub each time you open this page, so a language added after your version came out can show up too. Picking one of those downloads it and keeps it for offline use. Offline, you only see the languages your version shipped with.

Date format

MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, used for upload and update dates on mods and files. It sits in the same Language & region card. Each button shows today’s date in that format.

Zoom

Not in Settings: Ctrl with plus, minus, or zero zooms the whole window, and Grimoire remembers it.
