Managing skins in the Locker
Open a hero and click a skin’s card to turn it on. Click it again to turn it off. This is the same on and off as the Installed tab, so a skin you turn on here is on everywhere.
A skin that is on shows an Active badge. Browse more skins, under the list, opens Browse filtered to this hero.
When you have more than one skin on
Two skins can both be on, but only one can win a given file. Often that means one of them is doing nothing.
When two or more skins for a hero are on, a Load order list appears in the left column, under the section buttons. Each active card also shows its spot (#1, #2).
- Drag a skin up or down in the Load order list.
- Drop it. The top one loads first and wins.
This reorders your real load order, not a Locker-only copy, so it always matches Installed.
A Global skin always loads first, wherever you drag it. See what the Locker is.
Variants
Some mods ship several versions of the same skin: a red one, a blue one, one with a hat. Grimoire shows them as one card with variants. Local mods you grouped as variants on Installed show up the same way.
- Click the card. It says Pick a variant when none are on, or how many are on (like 1/3 active).
- Click a variant in the list that opens to turn it on or off.
You can have more than one variant on if they change different files. If they collide, the same top-wins rule applies. To change the order of the files inside one mod, click its card on Installed and drag the files or use the arrows.
The 3D preview
Click 3D at the top right of the hero page. A live model opens in a floating window you can drag and resize, and it stays where you put it.
It shows every skin you have on for this hero, stacked in load order the way the game loads them. With nothing on, you see the default look.
- Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom. R resets the view.
- The model is animated by default. The bar at the bottom has pause, auto-rotate, reset view, Save screenshot, Record GIF, and fullscreen.
- The gear (Controls) picks the animation, speed, lighting, and background, and turns Cloth, Bloom, and Particles on or off.
Some heroes cannot be posed yet and say “This hero can’t be posed in 3D yet.” That is a limit of the model export, not a problem with your skin.
Favorites
The star on a hero (or Favorite on the hero page) pins them to the top of the Locker grid, and keeps them visible even with Hide empty on. Useful if you mostly play three heroes.
Shuffle on launch
Shuffle on launch puts a different skin on each time you start the game from Grimoire.
- On the main Locker page, turn on Shuffle on launch (top right).
- Open a hero and click the shuffle button on each skin you want in the pool. It lights up once the skin is in. The number on the switch counts your pool.
- Click Launch Modded.
Each launch, for every hero with at least one skin in the pool, Grimoire picks one of those skins (it tries not to repeat the one you have now), turns it on, and turns off that hero’s other skins, pooled or not. Heroes with nothing in the pool are left alone.
A Global skin shows a pin instead of the shuffle button. It always stays on and is never picked.
For a pooled GameBanana skin with several files, a menu on its card picks which files the shuffle uses:
- Keep current files (the default): the files of that skin you already have on, or its first file if none are.
- Any variant: one at random.
- One specific variant.
General cosmetics can shuffle too. See General cosmetics.
Locker images
The art the Locker shows for a skin comes from the mod, but you can swap it. Hover a skin card and click its image button. The Locker images button at the top right of the hero page does the same for the skin that is currently winning.
The Choose a Locker image window has three tabs:
- Locker image: the hero’s tile on the main Locker grid.
- Card thumbnail: this skin’s card in the hero’s skin list.
- Background: the backdrop behind the hero on the hero page.
The tile and the backdrop follow whichever skin is winning for that hero.
- Pick an image under From this mod, or click Upload a custom image.
- Frame it. Drag the box to move it, drag a corner to resize.
- Click Use image.
Use Locker image starts the other two tabs from your Locker image. Reset to default puts the original back. If your image already shows the hero’s name, turn on Hide hero name label on the Locker image tab so the grid does not draw a second one.
Deleting
The trash button on a skin card deletes the mod and all its files, after you confirm. It cannot be undone. To keep a skin but take it out of the game, click it off instead.
